JAWS and "invisible" icons?

hi!

With my new job, I am viewing documentation on various software platforms. My question is this:

When viewing a list of training videos in Internet Explorer, beside each of them (visually) is a plus sign (+); jaws does not read this sign, and keyboard commands, including simulating mouse clicks, do not open the drop-down menus that enable me to view these videos. I am trying to use Firefox but it keeps crashing on me.

Any advice/workarounds would be greatly appreciated. Freedom Scientific's tech support has been less than useless.

Kate. It be hard to say unless you could make them available to view.
I know you can't do that here, but maybe suggest this to Freedom Scientific, and get your company to release them so the tech there can tell you.
Don't get regular tech support, ask for a supervisor.
Sometimes you can open the drop down by pressing control and arrow down, but again, I personally would have to see what you meant and be able to fool around with it.

Thanks for the suggestion; will try it when I et in this morning. After posting this message yeaterday I spent the rest of the afternoon battling with Flash *sighs*

I think I might just use articles...

No joy on a new day. Even JAWS itself says the + sign is unclickable in firefox; at least in FF it shows up as being an icon, though.

Thankfully my boss pulled the training video links for me, and those are all flash, which has not given me problems so far... YAY!
